The book is extremely easy to use--you just follow the colour coded steps for each subject. Within a few minutes of drawing your circles or squares for body or head you are creating an animal. I really didn't think it would work for me, but it does! There is no text with the illustrations but it is not needed--just follow the colour coding. Highly recommend this book. I used the steps to draw an animal out of another book and my effort is remarkably similar to the finished detailed one I was copying from.
